A new series of Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice’s travel series began on Monday night (March 18), but unfortunately some viewers were left unimpressed with the episode.

The new series “Anton & Giovanni’s Adventures in Spain” follows the best friends on their journey to many different Spanish hotspots.

Following the success of Anton & Giovanni’s Adventure in Sicily last year, the duo traveled to Anton’s native Spain to explore the 57-year-old’s legacy.

On the first excursion, viewers saw the globetrotters tour Seville, Marbella, Ronda and many other breathtaking locations.

Anton and Giovanni rode gondola races, had close contact with the Spanish authorities and created an inspiring sing-along dance performance in a courtyard.

Elsewhere, the Strictly judge admitted he had spent “more time” with the professional Italian dancer than his wife recently, before a flamenco dancer stunned the couple with her moves.

As the new series progresses, Anton and Giovanni are expected to attempt to become cowboys before being joined by fellow professional dancer Gorka Marquez.

After the first episode of “Anton and Giovanni’s Adventure in Spain” aired, fans took to

The crisis-hit BBC is sticking with Giovanni Pernice despite three Strictly stars making tearful comments about his behavior

One viewer commented: “Oh my god this is terrible! #AdventureInSpain.”

A second typed: “#AntonAndGiovanni one of the worst travel shows I’ve ever seen.”

While a third complained: “My god this makes Jane McDonald look good.”

However, some were more positive, with one fan raving: “I love Anton and Giovanni just breaking out into song and dance. That’s why I just love pure joy.”

Before Anton and Giovanni’s epic road trip show aired, Giovanni discussed meeting Gorka, 33, in Spain with What to Watch.

He said: “Gorka showed us where he came from and we surfed a bit together. But water sports are not our thing!”

“But we did traditional Basque sports with Gorka and it turned out I was wiry but strong!”

The launch of the couple’s new travel series comes after Giovanni’s behavior on popular dance show Strictly came under further scrutiny after a trio of former dance partners met to discuss how his methods left them upset and uncomfortable during their time on the show had made.

All three episodes of Anton & Giovanni’s Adventures in Spain are available to stream on BBC iPlayer and new episodes will air on BBC One next Monday at 9pm.
