Disneyland The Critter Country area will be temporarily closed starting May 1 as officials work to remodel two retail stores, theme park officials announced Monday.

“Add another stop to your trip to the bayou as two reimagined retail stores inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ The Princess and the Frog are coming to the Disneyland Resort,” the said said Disney Parks Blog.

Briar Patch and the left side of Pooh Corner are transformed into Ray’s Berets and Louis’ Critter Club, respectively.

Ray’s Berets sells items such as headwear, clothing, accessories and toys dedicated to Raymond the Firefly and his “firefly relatives.” According to the Disney Parks Blog, Louis’ Critter Club will sell items such as clothing, accessories and home decor themed to Princess Tiana and other animals.

Disneyland officials noted that Pooh Corner’s treat site continues to sell items from the Hundred Acre Wood and popular treats like Tigger Tails.

The announcement comes as teams continue to work on it Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, formerly known as Splash Mountain. The redesigned attraction is scheduled to open later this year at Disneyland and Walt Disney World in Florida.

“Teams are working hard to bring Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to life, and we continue to invest in improving the overall trails and surrounding areas to provide guests with a great experience when the attraction opens,” Disney Parks said Blog.

The plot of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will pick up where the 2009 animated film left off.

“Walt Disney Imagineering creates an original story for the next chapter for Tiana. While in the attraction queue, guests will discover that she continues to grow her business with Tiana’s Foods – an employee-owned co-op,” the said Disney Parks Blog was announced last year.

“By combining her talents with those of the local community, Tiana transformed an aging salt mine and built a beloved brand.”

In addition to the new rides and retail stores, Princess Tiana fans can dine there Tiana’s Palace, the restaurant the character fought to open throughout the cartoon, or shopping at Eudora’s Chic Boutique at Disneyland.

The ride opens at Walt Disney World this summer. A specific opening date for the Disneyland version of the ride has not been announced.
