All the lawyers of the (former) President

Former President Donald J. Trump is embroiled in a web of state and federal law enforcement and now faces 91 criminal charges in four separate state and federal cases.

Political action committees that support him spent more than $27 million on legal expenses in the first six months of 2023, and he has recruited a small army of lawyers to defend him. Here are a dozen prominent figures and their bills paid by Mr. Trump's Save America PAC.

Fee: $353,000 paid to his company from April to June 2023

Mr Trump hired Mr Blanche in April. His firm received $353,000 from Save America for legal work. according to federal documents. Mr. Blanche is representing Mr. Trump in the hush money case against Stormy Daniels, in the federal classified case and in the federal election interference case.

Fees: $195,000 paid in 2022

Boris Epshteyn, a top adviser and longtime ally of Mr Trump, is acting as a sort of in-house counsel, helping to coordinate the former president's numerous lawyers. In 2022, he received $195,000 from Mr. Trump's PAC, though not specifically for legal advice, and at least $30,000 during the 2024 campaign. He is considered one of six unnamed co-conspirators in the case of interference with the federal election and was involved as a witness in other Trump investigations. He was represented by Mr. Blanche and had recommended that Mr. Blanche be included on Mr. Trump's legal team.

Fees: $5.8 million in 2022 and the first six months of 2023

Fees: $465,000 in the first half of 2023

Susan R. Necheles was the attorney for Venero Mangano, the late underboss of the Genoese crime family known as “Benny Eggs,” and was recently represented Jeremy Reichberg, a former fundraiser for New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, in a federal bribery case. Since 2021 she has defended Mr. Trump and the Trump Organization in various investigations. Mr. Trump's PAC paid her company $465,000 in the first six months of 2023.

Stephen Weiss worked as an associate at the law firm of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft for six years before joining Mr Blanche in his firm in June. Mr. Weiss was present at a preliminary hearing for Mr. Trump in the document case last month.

Fees: $212,000 in 2022 and the first half of 2023

Lindsey Halligan was part of an aggressive effort by Mr Trump's legal team last year to hire a special counsel to review documents the FBI seized in the Mar-a-Lago raid. She was also part of a team of attorneys who met with Justice Department officials in June to thwart a final indictment in the documents case. Mr. Trump's PAC paid her $212,000 from June 2022 to June 2023.

Fees: $288,000 in 2022 and the first half of 2023

John Lauro formally joined Mr Trump's legal team in the election interference case earlier this month, despite previously advising the former president on legal matters. He was paid $288,000 for his legal work in 2022 and the first six months of 2023 Mr. Trump's PAC. He accompanied the former president to his indictment in the federal election interference case earlier this month.

Mr. Lauro rose to fame representing Tim Donaghy, a former NBA umpire who pleaded guilty to wagering on games and accepting payouts from players. He also previously served as a federal prosecutor in Brooklyn.

Fees: $816,000 in 2022 and the first half of 2023

Drew Findling, a prolific figure in the Atlanta rap world known as #BillionDollarLawyer, joined Mr Trump's legal team a year ago. Mr Findling has represented a number of famous rap stars – including Cardi B, Gucci Mane and Migos – and is highly respected for his defense work. He has decades of trial experience ranging from high-profile murder cases to local Georgia political corruption scandals. Mr. Trump's PAC paid his company $816,000 from July 2022 to May 2023.

Marissa Goldberg, a partner in Mr. Findling's law firm, worked with Mr. Findling and Ms. Little to quash the entire Georgia election case and disqualify Fani T. Willis, the Fulton County District Attorney handling the case.

Fees: $100,000

Jennifer Little began her career as a district attorney in DeKalb County, Georgia before becoming a partner at Fried Bonder White. She later founded her own law firm, Jennifer Little Law. Like Mr. Corcoran, Ms. Little was also forced to testify about her legal work as Mr. Trump's representative in the federal documents case. In April 2022, she received $100,000 from Mr. Trump's PAC.
